Two things that I love in life are music and guitars. So you might say I’m over the moon about this review.
Enter the Gibson Maestro 41. This guitar is currently on backorder (but worth the wait). My local dealer had one for me to play with, though, so I was really excited to take it for a spin. And now I get to share my thoughts with all of you!
While they were certainly right about this being “suitable for country” – there’s nothing stopping me from using this beauty for anything else.
The Fit & Finish: It passed by my shoulder perfectly, whether standing or sitting. The tone woods are stunningly beautiful and rich-looking with an almost 3D quality to them.
The Neck: The neck is slim and fast, making it easy to play. It’s also very sturdy feeling.
The Hardware: The hardware is all gold-plated, which I love. It gives the guitar a really high-end look. And it all works perfectly – no wobbling or sticking.
The Sound: This guitar has a really mellow sound, perfect for country but versatile enough to cover other genres as well. It’s definitely not a rocker, though – at least not in the traditional sense. But that doesn’t mean it can’t hold its own when needed. For instance, I played some blues licks on it and got some pretty sweet sounds in return.
But my favorite thing about this guitar is the way it feels in my hands. It’s just so comfortable to play, and the sound is exactly what I was looking for.
If you’re in the market for an acoustic guitar that’s suitable for country (or any other genre), then I highly recommend the Gibson Maestro 41. You won’t be disappointed!
