The Epiphone DR-500MCE is a cutaway dreadnought acoustic-electric guitar that features a solid mahogany top, back and sides.
It has a slim taper mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with 20 medium frets, pearloid dot inlays, bone nut, die-cast tuners, Fishman Sonitone electronics and comes with a deluxe gig bag.
I was really impressed with the DR-500MCE when I first played it. The sound is fantastic – clear and bright, with good projection. The mahogany top gives it a nice warm tone, and the Fishman Sonitone electronics provide great amplification and sound reproduction. The guitar is also very comfortable to play.
The DR-500MCE is a great guitar for the price, and it has really impressed me with its sound and construction.
The only area in which I would have liked to see Epiphone improve upon was in adjusting the truss rod – I found that even after a number of tweaks, the action on the low-E string could still do with being a little lower. Other than this minor issue, I’m very happy with my purchase!
