I wanted a Fender Johnny Marr Jaguar for a very long time. There is just something about that guitar that makes everyone who owns one, fall in love with it. As I was looking to buy one, I realized how expensive they are and so was not willing to pay such an amount of money for such a basic electric guitar.
So why do I think the Jaguar is so special? The most obvious reason is its looks. It’s minimalistic, but sleek and really cool design will appeal to all kinds of players: whether you like playing heavy metal or slow blues the Jaguar will look amazing on any stage and it will fit right in.
Another great thing about this instrument would be its sound. Whether you use the two single coils or the single humbucker, you will get a very bright tone. The pickups might seem a little bit low in output because Jaguars were originally made for Jazz musicians to use flatwound strings on it and so have a softer output. But even when using light strings you’ll get a really nice sounding guitar with lots of high end. Also switching between pickups yields no noise or tonal degradation which is great.
Now let’s talk about the most important thing: playability. The Jaguar is an incredibly easy guitar to play, probably one of the easiest guitars ever made by Fender! It feels amazing when playing chords and also scales down to intricate lead lines very well making it perfect for any kind of music.
So all in all I think the Jaguar is a great guitar for any player, beginner or experienced. It has a great sound, it looks amazing and it’s so easy to play that you’ll never want to put it down!
